Giorgio Armani has become a symbol. He is an ambassador of Italian Fashion known all over the world. He was born on July 11, 1934 in a small town of Italy.

Giorgio Armani is famous for his stylish suits that are worn by many top Hollywood actors, yet he had never thought of becoming a fashion designer in his youth.

He started college as a medical student but soon he realized that wasn't the right path for him. He quit medical college and started taking photography courses. However, that wasn't meant to last much either as in 1957 he had to abandon them in order to do his obligatory military service.

After that he started working at "La Rinascente" a leading department store of the time. In 1964, Armani worked for an important fashion designer, Nino Cerruti. Four years later he was encouraged by his good friend, Sergio Galeotti to leave Cerruti and establish his own freelance design studio.

In 1974, Galeotti helped Armani establish his own company called Giorgio Armani S.P.A. His first collection for men was a great success and a year later, he launched a collection for women that enjoyed the same enthusiasm from the public.

Since then, he continuously developed the Armani Look, which can be easily recognized today. It is well known for its distinct clean, tailored lines. Other popular products made by Giorgio Armani are, perfumes, colognes, sunglasses, watches etc.

The popularity and success of Giorgio Armani can be considered by the fact that he owns several homes in exotic places like San Tropez, Forte de Marmi, Broni, and Pantelleria.
